At Te Whakaminenga Chapter 2014, Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa Sisters of Mercy New Zealand committed to ‘Whakawhanaungatanga make right relationship happen’.

We are encouraged that throughout the encyclical Laudato Si’ Pope Francis has a focus on right relationship: ‘If the present ecological crisis is one small sign of the ethical, cultural and spiritual crisis of modernity, we cannot presume to heal our relationship with nature and the environment without healing all fundamental human relationships’ (119).

Laudato Si’: On Care for Our Common Home will be a key document in the upcoming Mercy International Reflection Process – a worldwide reflection process, commencing on 8 December 2015, to discern together globally a shared response to the human and other than human cry for Mercy in our world today.
