Connecting With Mercy
‘Becoming a new creation for mission.’
Vision Statement

Sisters of Mercy New Zealand

We welcome those who wish to join us in responding to the call of God’s people today and give thanks for the many women and men who currently partner with us for mission.
There are a number of ways of connecting more formally with the Mercy story and sharing in the life and mission of Sisters of Mercy in Aotearoa New Zealand, Tonga and Samoa.
Companions in mission choose to engage closely with the Mercy story and may work as colleagues in ministry, share administrative responsibility or participate in leadership and governance of Mercy facilities.
Associates respond to the Gospel call to holiness by sharing particularly in the spirituality of Mercy through prayer and reflection.
Vowed members make a life commitment to live in community for mission, faithful to the Gospel, the vision of Catherine McAuley, and our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

The Mercy vowed life is a particular expression of the mercy of God in our world.
The Gospel call to whanaungatanga right relationship with God, self, others and Earth is expressed creatively by each Sister as she responds to her call to live in community for mission.
