In inviting people to serve as directors for the ministries of Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa Tiaki Manatū Sisters of Mercy Ministries New Zealand Trust, the Sisters of Mercy are calling women and men to be companions in mission, sharing responsibility for the governance of their ministries.
While the sisters have pioneered these ministries, their future rests increasingly in the hands of companions who need to be steeped in Mercy’s founding spirit if the ventures they lead are to stay true to the vision from which they have sprung.
To provide for the governance and growth of our healthcare, education and community development ministries is to sit at the table where the vision of Mercy is shaped, and where policies are framed to bring that vision to life.
As the story of Mercy is retold, new paths of hope and possibility unfold in cutting-edge ministries that call constantly for change and re-sharpened focus.
