Overseas Mission
Tonga
Sisters are missioned to the Pacific for Mercy ministry in Tonga and Samoa. Houses were established in Tonga at Lapaha in 1964, Kolonga in 1991 and in Samoa at Leulumoega in 1972 and Fusi, in 2003. Over time indigenous sisters from both Tonga and Samoa have enriched Mercy’s cultural diversity.
Sisters in communities at Lapaha and Kolonga in Tonga are engaged in secondary school teaching, parish work, support for women and children and justice programmes.
In Samoa sisters teach at Paul VI College and St Joan of Arc Primary School, Leulumoega, Upolu and St Theresa’s School, at Fusi, Savaii.

Beyond the Pacific area sisters have, over time, been missioned to join in projects with other Mercy Congregations. Sisters are currently missioned to:
- Chile - where a registered nurse works in the healthcare area with local women, empowering them to take charge of their own lives and energies.
- Mercy International Association and
- Mercy International Centre in Dublin - where sisters participate as Team members and also serve as volunteers from time to time.
