Mercy In Action

Mercy in Action

Grounded in the Gospel, the vision of Catherine McAuley and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa Sisters of Mercy New Zealand share their resources in response to local needs for education, health care and social service with a particular concern for women and children.

Committed to lives of prayer, community and service, Mercy women think globally and act locally, living in hope that their lives represent a presence for justice and mercy in our world.

Mercy mission is lived out through incorporated Mercy ministries where sisters work alongside dedicated companions in mission and co-workers, and through the engagement of sisters in a wide variety of ministries.

Nga Whaea Atawhai o Aotearoa Tiaki Manatu Sisters of Mercy Ministries New Zealand Trust ensures that the philosophy, mission and values of the Sisters of Mercy are expressed in all aspects of the organisational life of incorporated Mercy facilities.
